한국 FTA 원산지규정의 엄격성에 대한 연구 : 한-EU FTA, 한-미 FTA, 한-중 FTA를 중심으로

초록

Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) aim to increase price competitiveness and facilitate trade by maximizing economies of scale and complementarity of trade through the liberalization of trade and investment between contracting countries. However, since FTAs only grant benefits to goods originating in the contracting countries, rules of origin are important for ensuring their effectiveness. In this study, we introduce the concept of the FTA Barrier Index, based on the Index Methodology, to analyze the stringency of rules of origin in the Korea-EU, Korea-US, and Korea-China FTAs. Through this analysis, we compare the stringency of rules of origin in these FTAs by agreement and industry. This will contribute to the formulation of trade policies that optimize the use of FTAs in the future and provide companies with ways to efficiently utilize FTAs.
