This study compares two stage musical adaptations of A Christmas Carol (2003 Seoul Arts Company, 2025 Seoul Metropolitan Musical Theatre) to examine transformation strategies through song spotting, lyrics, and character use. The 2003 production uses dialogue-driven exposition while 2025 prioritizes scenic representation. This ‘telling’ to ‘showing’ shift reflects changing audience reception and theatrical conventions, demonstrating that musical adaptation responds to contemporary demands.
