‘연결완전성(seamless visit)’이 내재한 관람 경험 창출을 위한 모바일 기술의 적용

초록

In seamless visit model, the entrance narrative in the pre-visit phase is transformed into meaning making phase by interacting with exhibits and other visitors by using handheld device during visit. Then, it is extended to sharing, deepening and reinforcing museum experience during post-visit activities. Today, handheld multimedia guides have reached significantly higher level of functionality including visitor-driven interaction, media rich delivery, connotation, way-finding and navigation, bookmarking, feedback, and so on. Some of the salient elements of the handheld multimedia in this study are the emphasis on the multimodality in dynamic presentation and coherence, context-awareness, and the adaptivity. In principle, the handheld multimedia guide should not be intrusive. For the efficacy of the users, the information content and information presentations museums should deploy non-intrusive user modeling which is built solely upon observing the visitor’s behavior, and take into account the context of use. The content and presentations also has to be intuitive and shall bring minimal and effective interactions. In order to ensure that visitors are allowed to interpret the visit according to their personal traits, a handheld multimedia guide should be adaptive and should support strong and fine-tuned personalization and customization of all the information provided. These are prerequisites to fulfill visitors’ expectations and needs and to stimulate their attention while allowing for both learning and enjoying, so that the visit can result in a richer meaning making in their museum experience.
