A reciprocated relation indicates a case in which two individuals report their relationship existence at the same time. Previous research continuously reported that there exist non-reciprocated relations where only one individual of a pair acknowledges the relationship existence. This study examined longitudinal social network data collected from a class of students for a semester. Social networks of face to face, email, short message service, mobile phones, blog communications were measured at the beginning and end of the semester. The data were analyzed with network regression method. Relational characteristics of each relation were also measured. Results show that reciprocated relations used more interpersonal media, showed more positive relational characteristics, and lasted longer than non-reciprocated relations.
