초록

The purpose of this study was to establish the quantitative criteria for Quantitative Factors Influencing neologism stabilization in a statistical way by utilizing actual use data of neologisms exposed in the media. In addition, the possibility of including such neologisms in electronic dictionary registration is examined to validate the significance of the proposed criteria. The SPSS statistics was used for data analysis, which collected neologism usage pattern data from BIG KINDS and to derive objective and quantitative criteria for Factors Influencing Neologism Stabilization by using Zipf’s law. The criteria presented in this study focused on three factors: actual usage frequency, news article count, and yearly distribution. The findings of data analysis showed that the neologisms meeting the criteria proposed in this study have a 91.17% to 100% likelihood of being registrated in the electronic dictionary. The quantitative criteria for factors influencing neologism stabilization derived in this study provided a primary framework for assessing the establishment of neologisms and determining the likelihood of being registered in the electronic dictionary.
