스팀펑크 기계미학적 이미지 표현양상이 애니메이션 관람자의 만족도에 미치는 영향 연구 -‘하울의 움직이는 성’을 중심으로-

초록

This study intensively investigated the viewer's perception of the characteristics of the expression pattern of the applied animation image as a steam-punk element to gradually expand the scope of application in response to the demand and change of the animation market in the art field. For this reason, this paper first analyzes the external positive and internal negative performance of steampunk-style mechanical aesthetics in the history of modern art development. From the literature review, it is concluded that mechanical aesthetics is externally manifested as mechanical decorative elements, and internally manifested as the use of machinery by writers to express the pacifist thoughts that exist within. In particular, in the theatrical version of the cartoon "Howl's Moving Castle", Hayao Miyazaki highlights daily necessities and mechanical parts such as aircraft, not only depicting the beauty of the machine, but also expressing his anxiety about war through the destructiveness of the machine. Therefore, the steampunk mechanical aesthetics elements contained in the cartoon "Howl's Moving Castle" were selected as the research object, and after in-depth analysis, the cartoon audience satisfaction survey was carried out. As the final analysis material, the relationship between each form of expression and the subordinate variation of satisfaction (information affinity and perceived susceptibility factors) was analyzed. The results show that, specifically, positive decorative performance and negative pacifist performance have positive (+) effects on the variables of audience satisfaction, familiarity and perceptual ease respectively. That is, the mechanical decorative elements and the visual expression of the inner feelings against war can make the audience feel more satisfied with the animation. Based on the results of this study, it is expected that this study will be helpful to the content development of new animation works in the future.
