토론문 쓰기를 활용한 외국인 유학생 대상 교양 토론 수업 연구

초록

This study is concerned with a class in the college liberal arts curriculum for foreign students, in which they read texts and conduct pro-con debates and proposes a liberal arts debate class model utilizing writing debate scripts. In a ‘debate,’ since one should immediately understand others’ argument and persuade them by relevantly refuting that, right away, foreign students may be nervous because of a burden for Korean and show insufficient debate aspects as compared to what they have prepared, accordingly. Therefore, before the debate, first, their roles were divided into the pros and cons, so that smooth debates could be conducted by preparing the debate for their roles and predicting the other party’s arguments. Through various activities before the debate, the members of the debate team can express their opinions more clearly, and through the process of preparing topics for discussion themselves and discussing them, they can naturally be exposed to the debate. However, simply preparing debates and drawing up debate scripts, by which logical flows can be prepared, show different discussion results. Thus, a more meticulous process of writing debate scripts is needed before the debate. Therefore, this study devised a class model, focusing on the problems and situations in the actual liberal arts debate class and through writing debate scripts as one of the processes for preparation in which foreign students can logically persuade the others, they can more actively participate in debates during the class.
