초록

This study was to review the limitations of current analytical methods for food additives and emphasizes the need for improvement. Food additives are essential for enhancing quality, shelf life, and nutrition, but increasing safety concerns highlight the need for precise and reliable testing. While advanced techniques such as HPLC, GC, LC-MS/ MS, and GC-MS/MS improve sensitivity and accuracy, their high costs and limited accessibility restrict broad application. Therefore, analytical methods must balance precision with practical applicability. In addition to technical advancement, method improvement holds policy significance. Standardized testing supports harmonization with international regulations and enhances consumer trust. Cases of regulatory inconsistencies in Chemical Abstract Service (CAS) registry numbers across countries further underscore the need for systematic revisions. This study highlights the importance of developing analytical methods that are both scientifically valid and operationally feasible, ultimately contributing to stronger food safety systems and international competitiveness.
