FPS 비디오 게임에서 기본 정서를 경험하는 상황에 대한 탐색적 연구

초록
The purpose of this study is to explore emotional experiences while playing violent video games with using the method of in-depth interview. Nine basic emotions selected from the past studies examined emotional expressions in Korean language were used as a systematic tool for exploration. The basic emotions are joy, pride, love, anger, fear, sympathy, shame, frustration, and sadness. In-depth interviews were conducted in two separate stages. At the first stage, the questionnaire was created supposed to elicit each basic emotion. Through this stage, love was replaced by gratitude. At the second stage, people were asked about their feelings in response to each context. At the second stage, sadness was replaced by regret because sadness was not mentioned in the interviews. Despite the differences, the results overall show rich and various experience of basic emotions in FPS game playing. This study is expected to help future research exploiting the role of emotions in involvement, addiction, and aggressiveness with regard to violent video games.
