언어네트워크분석 기법을 활용한 갈등 프레임의 분석

Drawing on conflict frame theories, this study investigated conflict frames of local residents who live near the Kori nuclear power plant in Korea. This study applied semantic network analysis to analyze their conflict frames. Interview transcripts were analyzed using KrKwic software. It counted the frequency of all words used in the text and produced a ‘word × word’co-occurrence matrix. For visualization of semantic networks, NetDraw in UCINET package was used. The results indicated that the Fukushima nuclear accident significantly influenced residents' conflict frames. It should be noted, however, that risk frame was not much affected by the disaster. Findings from this study suggested that frame analysis using semantic network analysis technique would be very useful in identifying conflict frames and thus contribute to the successful management of intractable policy conflicts.
