초록

This study explores the key challenges that must be addressed for the effective practice of somatics, based on a theoretical examination of the field. It clarifies the concept of somatics and examines the Topf Technique as a case to discuss its practical application. Drawing on field experience, the study analyzes challenges arising in somatic practice and within the domestic context. The findings highlight the need for clearer educational communication of somatic philosophy and improved public awareness. An objective evaluation framework is required to verify effectiveness while respecting differences among techniques. In addition, certification systems should be reassessed, with greater integration of professional experience and academic research. Furthermore, new somatic approaches grounded in traditional Eastern mind–body practices should be developed. Finally, effective integration into dance education requires expanded university curricula and stronger connections across artistic, educational, and therapeutic contexts.
