소년수형자 정규교육의 교정･교화 및 재범 예방 효과에 관한 연구: 문헌 고찰 및 국내외 사례분석을 중심으로

Academic discontinuity drives the vicious cycle of recidivism among juvenile inmates. This study analyzes empirical literature and case studies from Korea and major Western and Asia-Pacific nations to verify the effectiveness of formal education. Results indicate that formal education significantly reduces recidivism, particularly when integrated with psychological interventions and strict quality management. The study also highlights operational limitations caused by the lack of legal status as educational institutions and institutionalized cooperation with education authorities. Based on these findings, specific policy proposals are presented for the advancement of the Korean juvenile correctional education model.
