Differences in Breeding Bird Communities Between Deciduous Forests of Gwangneung and Mt. Namsan Areas

This study was conducted to clarify the diferences in breeding bird communities betweendeciduous forests of Gwangneung and Mt. Namsan areas from April to August 206. Two 10ha area wereselected for territory mapping of breeding bird comunity in both study area. The DBH distribution of treesand average foliage profiles were significantly diferent between study areas. Also, breeding birddiversity were higher in Gwangneung area than in Mt. Namsan area. When examining relationship betweenforest habitat structure and bird community, Number of bird species and breeding pairs belonged to holeand canopy guild were increase as the increase of coverstory coverage and number of large tres. Therefore,it is necessary to make vertical structure more various to plant bushes, and to make DBH distribution morediverse for enhancing bird species diversity in the degraded ecosystem.
