원전 입지가 지역경제에 미치는 효과

초록

The main purpose of this research is to analyze the effects of nuclear power plants on regional economy in four nuclear power plant sites such as Kori, Youngkwang, Uljin, and Wolsong. To estimate net effects of nuclear power plants, this paper analyzes not only the areas where nuclear power plant locates but also adjacent areas. The analysis of effects of nuclear power plants on regional economy is based on economic base model, utilizing the measurement of basic employment proportion through location quotient analysis, the projection of employment growth through shift-share analysis, and the estimation of basic employment multiplier through short-term impact analysis. The results show that the nuclear power plant sites have brought positive impacts on the regional economy and are expected to bring them continuously in the future. However, unless nuclear plants are interconnected to other industries in the region, their impacts on the regional economy could be limited.
