이성과 감정: 인간의 판단과정에 대한 뇌과학과 생물학적 접근

초록

Recent scientific discoveries reveal that the way human brains work cannot be properly understood with a functionalist approach, different from what many logic and computer scientists have assumed. In accordance with these discoveries, many social scientists have recently reported that people employ affect-based heuristic decision making in a variety of settings. The purpose of this paper is to explore charac-teristics of affect heuristics based on recent findings in neuroscience and biology and to provide its theoretical implications. In this paper, I explained that mammals have acquired affect heuristic strategies in the course of evolution processes as a means of survival. I compared and contrasted the elaboration likelihood model and heuristic-systematic model and discussed what recent scientific findings have to say about the assumptions on which these models stand.
