노동양극화와 사회 정의

Labor Polarization and Social Justice
  • 이병훈

초록

Labor polarization, which has furthered discrimination and inequality with the working class, becomes a crucial structural issue, not only leading to social disintegration and conflicts, but weakening the sustained growth of national economy. Since the economic crisis taking place in 1997, the problem of labor polarization has worsened, as revealed in the widening gap between regular workers at large firms and non-regular workers at small firms. This labor polarization produces the crisis of social justice, implying that social opportunities and economic rights have been monopolized by the estate class and labor aristocrats. The labor polarization, resulting in the crisis of social justice, is fostered and strengthened by the “neo-liberal economic policy discourse", which has been dominant in our society since the economic crisis. Therefore, it is urgently necessary to replace the neo-liberal policy with the alternative policy discourse pursuing the revitalization of social justice, in order to cope with the crisis of distributive justice and labor polarization.
