기혼남성이 인식하는 효(孝)의식과 자기분화와의 관계에 대한 연구

This study investigates the relationship between filial piety awareness and self-differentiation among married men in South Korea, focusing on how these individuals psychologically navigate tensions between traditional familial obligations and modern values. The aim of this research was to provide empirical evidence that could inform culturally responsive counseling and family education interventions. Data were collected through self-report questionnaires from 260 married men across various regions of South Korea. Standardized scales measuring filial piety and self-differentiation were administered, and the data were analyzed using SPSS 27.0., Participants reported a relatively high level of filial piety awareness and a relatively low level of self-differentiation. Significant differences in filial piety awareness were observed based on perceived economic status and religious affiliation, while self-differentiation varied significantly according to educational attainment and perceived economic status. All four dimensions of filial piety_(=obedience, affection, succession, and proxy=)_were significantly and positively correlated with self-differentiation. These findings suggest that socio-demographic factors, such as economic status, religion, and education, play a critical role in shaping both filial attitudes and psychological autonomy in married men. Moreover, the observed positive association between filial piety and self-differentiation challenges the conventional notion that traditional familial values inherently impede personal autonomy. This association is particularly meaningful, as it calls for a reevaluation of the belief that obedience based filial piety suppresses individual autonomy. It also reflects a broader transition in the understanding of filial piety,=_from a model grounded in obedience and sacrifice to one emphasizing mutual respect and relational harmony. This shift highlights the evolving nature of filial values in contemporary society and provides a valuable foundation for developing counseling strategies and family programs tailored to the changing dynamics of Korean families.
