Artistic Creation and the Reconstruction of the Subject in the Posthuman Era

초록

This study analyzes how generative AI dismantles and reconstructs the modern “autonomous human subject” in aesthetics. First, it defines the human as a “prosthetic being” whose existence is shaped by technological mediation, arguing that AI functions as an intrinsic prosthesis reorganizing human cognition. Drawing on Actor-Network Theory (ANT), the research demonstrates that creative agency is no longer monopolized by the artist but distributed across an “alliance of actors,” including algorithms, data, and platforms. This shift implies a complication of accountability rather than its disappearance, redefining the artist from an isolated creator to a “mediator” and “responsible designer” who coordinates networks of meaning. Ultimately, posthuman artistic creation is an “aesthetics of co-evolution” between humans and non-humans, where the artist acts as a relational being reinventing subjectivity while critically reflecting on technological power structures.
