한국 휴대전화기 품질이 OECD 수출에 미치는 영향 분석

In this paper, we develop a simple economic model for price, quantity, and quality for mobile phone export from Korea to the OECD countries during the period from 2000 to 2009. We introduce mark-up pricing to the supply side and telecommunication patents to the demand and supply sides. With those theoretical features, we derive regression models for relative export price and export quantity for the Korean mobile-phone. Based on the model, we perform panel regressions to conjecture the size and sign of all the parameters considered in the theoretical model. The empirical evidences suggest that GDP and telecommunication network in the OECD countries matter neither to export quantity nor to relative export price of Korean mobile-phone in the OECD markets. On the other hand, more patents granted to Korean firms in the sector of mobile telecommunication is found to raise a relative price of Korean mobile-phone in the OECD markets while it appears to be irrelevant to the export quantity.
