중학교 교사의 진로교육 경험에 대한 내러티브 탐구

초록

This exploratory study aims at identifying middle school career education teachers' experiences and perceptions by narrative inquiry method. In-depth interviews with three teachers revealed themes related to the main questions of: 1) how they perceive career education and develop their perspectives on career education, 2) in what ways they participated in career education, and 3) how they perceive the problems in career education from practitioners' perspectives. Participants perceive career education as critical educative endeavors evolving through students' lives, but show passive attitudes about disciplinary approach to career education. Participants think middle school students delay their vocational interests due to continuous pressure of academic achievement and success case-based approach often demotivates students in some cases. Career education in middle school is often regarded as teacher's individual practice, so teachers' activities are limited and bounded in school system. Implications for future studies and practices of career education are suggested.
