초록
[Purpose] This study analyzes the achievement goal orientation of Korean high school male and female golfers and the perception of the purpose of golf participation, and examines the relationship between task and self-orientation and sub-factors of golf participation purpose. [Method] 314 male and female golfers attending high schools located in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do were recruited by the population. In this study, the target direction of subjects was measured by KTEOSQ, and the purpose of participating in golf was measured by KPSQ. [Result] First, female athletes showed significantly higher task-oriented scores than male athletes, and in the case of self-orientation, male athletes showed higher scores than female athletes. Second, the results for the purpose of participating in golf were found to be of significance for all sub-factors of the purpose of participation, except for the 'social position'. Third, the correlation between task and self-orientation and sub-factors for the purpose of participating in seven sports was analyzed according to gender, with significant differences between gender. Fourth, multidimensional verification of the relationship between goal orientation and the purpose of sports participation resulted in statistical significance in one regular function for the entire athlete. [Conclusion] Depending on whether players aim to achieve technical skills and personal improvement (task orientation), or aim to do better than other players (self-oriented), their participation purposes differ.
