문화예술회관과 구분되는 산업유산을 활용한 문화주도 재생시설 방문객의 장소감 비교: 온라인 리뷰와 바이텀 토픽모델(BTM)을 활용하여

초록

This study conducted a comparative analysis of sense of place for a culture-led regeneration facility using industrial heritage, which is different from the existing public cultural complexes such as culture and arts centers, to identify the facility’s existential value and meaning to visitors at the time of its reorganization. First, sense of place was divided into “place attachment,” “place identity,” “place dependence,” and “place quality” in a deductive manner. Then, using the biterm topic model (BTM), we derived potential themes from online reviews on Google Maps of “Oil Tank Culture Park” as the culture-led regeneration facility and comparison cases of “Sejong Cultural Center,” “Chungmu Art Center,” and “Mapo Art Center.” The culture-led regeneration facility using industrial heritage, in contrast to the culture and arts centers, had a prominent proportion of “place dependence” among sense of place, indicating that visitors recognized the unique value of the place. However, it showed low proportions of “place quality” and “place identity,” confirming that visitors perceived a lack of cultural content at the facility. Based on the results, we concluded that culture-led regeneration facilities using industrial heritage have existential value and meaning in that they are “places that remember and preserve the heritage of the past and coexist with the culture of the present.” The results also suggested a policy improvement direction in which cultural content should be produced to reflect the uniqueness and value of such places. This study not only provides justification for the sustainable management of culture-led regeneration facilities using industrial heritage but also shows the effectiveness of the BTM method in policy research.
