초록
The purpose of this study is to examine the characteristics of surrealist fashion design, focusing on the Schiaparelli Haute Couture collection. The research method examines the theoretical background and formative principles of surrealism, and conducted a case analysis based on the concept of metastasis, focusing on the 2019 F/W to 2025 S/S Haute Couture collection led by Daniel Roseberry, creative director of Schiaparelli. As a result of this study, the metastasis of surrealist fashion in the Schiaparelli collection was found to be a type of object instrumentality transfer, representational order collapse, and semantic action disturbance, and was embodied as design characteristics such as playability, illusion, and boundary scalability. In this way, the formative development of surrealism suggests a way to simultaneously realize artistry, symbolism, and creativity in modern fashion, and it was found that the existing fashion framework was dismantled and new formative language and artistic meaning were created through the rearrangement of everyday objects and body elements, visualization of symbols and unconsciousness, and mixed composition of sensuous and symbolic and symbolic meanings. This laid the framework for understanding contemporary fashion design that emphasized borderless sensory experience and visual narratives.
