일제하 일본인 경찰간부의 무도 활동에 관한 연구
초록
This study aims to reveal the contents of martial art activities of Japanese police executives under Japanese imperialism. For this, examinations were made of judo and kendo education by police organizations, the diffusion of police organizations and the promotion of martial arts, and the qualitative reinforcement of martial arts by police executives and trainee mobilization in war time. For the research method, analysis was conducted based on literary data and the conclusions were as follows. Martial arts training was developed within diverse institutional mechanisms such as etiquette lessons, training, and martial arts competitions. Through such institutional mechanisms, police executives spread the spirit of martial arts to the Japanese and to Joseon people, emphasizing assimilation. The spirit of martial arts is an ideological installation connected to the Japanese emperor. This study has significance in the history of physical education in that it provided a starting point in the understanding of the developmental aspects of modern Korean police martial arts.
