융(C.G.Jung)의 분석심리학 관점에서 본 그림책 일러스트레이션 상징의 표상적 특성 연구 - 찰스 키핑의 ‘창 너머’를 중심으로 -

초록

Jung’s analytical psychology is a study that belongs to depth psychology, and the most important concept to understand the mental world of human is unconsciousness. In Jung’s analytical psychology, the symbol is an element that connects such unconsciousness with consciousness and art is one of the symbolic systems in which mentality of human inner side can be embodied as a visual representation. In this study, with an attempt to contemplate the symbol which appeared in Charles Keeping’s picture book ‘Through the Window’ in the perspective of C.G. Jung’s analytical psychology,we are to look into the unconsciousness displayed in his inner side through the symbolic image. Therefore we looked into the concept of the theory and the symbol theory of analytical psychology and discussed the representational characteristics of symbol prototype through literature researches. By looking into the unconsciousness that is displayed from his inner side through the symbolic image revealed in Charles Keeping’s ‘Through the Window’ on the foundation of this, we investigated how personal life and experience are reproduced and embodied to be reflected to the work. For structural interpretation of the picture book, space, color,line symbol theory were applied and they were analyzed in connection with the representational characteristics of symbol prototype and the author’s personal overall life. As a result of the study, it could be confirmed that the analytical psychological perspective could be applied as a methodical principle to analyzing in depth the representational characteristics of the symbol and the author’s inner world revealed in the work.
