홍콩항과 상하이항의 항만개발 전략 비교 및 우리나라 항만의 대응방안

초록

There can be no doubt that recent developments in the container ports have radically altered port's competitive position in Northeast Asia, Chinese port developments in particular. With rapid economic development, China has made aggressive development in Chinese ports investing massive investments in the port of Shanghai.The paper aims to investigate changes in Chinese port development strategy after annex of Hong Kong to China. Specifically it attempts to compare the development strategies of Hong Kong port and Shanghai port considering environmental changes around ports including economies, institutional tools and politics etc.In order to react effectively to the changes in Chinese port development, it is suggested that Korea government adopt several strategies. Firstly it is necessary to develop Pusan and Kwangyang ports as hub ports in Northeast Asia including hinterlands before Chinese ports complete their development projects. Secondly, the two ports should implement different strategies in terms of geography and port price in attracting transshipment cargoes from Japan and China. Thirdly the two ports need to establish transshipment networks with participating port operation which has transhipment cargoes.
