Entrepreneurship Shown Through the Liberal Arts Accounting of Chung-Ang University

초록

Chung-Ang University adopted 'Accounting and Society' as one of the key liberal arts education courses in 2009 for the first time in Korea. In 2011, the university has renamed the course into “Accounting in Everyday Life of the Entrepreneurship Age" and has since sought the functions and implications of innovative university education with new perspective that is essential in the run-up to the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Entrepreneurs in the past played a key role in bringing radical changes to the society, which were attainable thanks to innovative education behind the scenes. Against this backdrop, this study aims to present some case studies of accounting class based on entrepreneurship intended to foster competitive and versatile talents in celebration of the 10th anniversary of adopting accounting as a liberal arts course for all and to identify the future direction and the potential to go further ahead. The case studies of accounting as a liberal arts course presented in this study are expected to serve as an exemplary class model that will be useful for students who will soon act as economic engines for our society.
