한국 재난영화의 탄생과 국가적 트라우마의 반복: 위기영화로서의 <해운대>의 판타지 분석
초록
Haeundae(2009), the film that announced the birth of Korean disaster movies, was inspired by the Indonesia Tsunami of 2004 and released just after the global financial crisis of 2008. The film, therefore, opens a space of signification in which it can be read as a fantasy trying to signify and master the pains and frustrations, anxieties of Korean people during the 1997 financial crisis and the following neo-liberalization with the repetition of the national trauma caused by the crisis. In these terms, Haeundae can be regarded as a crisis film like the Hollywood disaster movies cycle of the 1970s. The tsunami in Haeundae is an imaginary objectification of the Real, a fascinating image giving a body to the impossible jouissance in Lacanian sense. In Haeundae, the tsunami functions as an agency of paternal superego, materializing the command of the Father-Enjoyment to restore the paternal authority and complete the sexual relationship. Nevertheless, the fantasy of Haeundae and its implied politico-sociological vision seem to be not successful in restoring the law of father and constructing the public world among Korean subjects.
