한반도 발견 목간의 형태 용어 검토
초록
Researchers who study wooden documents, wooden tablets and bamboo strips are closely interchanging beyond the boundaries of countries. Since researches on wooden documents started relatively late in Korea, terminology already used in China and Japan was recognized, accepted and changed for their own system. When Korean researchers first encountered wooden documents, the term that came to their mind used to be ‘木牌’. After that, the Japanese term ‘木簡’ was imported and settled soon. In addition, shape terms used in Japan such as ‘短冊型’, ‘切り込み’, ‘尖形’, ‘圭頭’, ‘削屑’, ‘題籤軸’, as well as categories for Chinese bamboo strips and wooden tablets such as ‘簡’, ‘牘’, ‘觚’, ‘檢’, ‘楬’, ‘符’, ‘券’, ‘棨’, ‘致’, ‘傳’, ‘杮’, ‘槧’ were introduced. Among them, ‘題籤軸’ was accepted as itself because there is no alternative in Korean, and ‘削屑’ is being used together with the translation term. ‘觚’ is widely used relatively, but the making distinction between ‘簡’ and ‘牘’ was not accepted. Although ‘短冊型’ and ‘切り込み’ need to be translated, transla¬tion terms have not yet been unified. I suggest ‘縱長板(long plate)’ and ‘홈(groove)’ as alternative terms. In China, wooden tablets and bamboo strips are classified by re-using ancient terms combining shape and function, while classification by function and classification by shape using type numbers are given separately in Japan. Therefore, it is difficult to unify them into one or to make correspond to each other. However, if the Korean Society for the Study of Wooden Documents makes general rules and glossary, the standardization of terms can be pursued in Korea, and Korean terminology and classification will be easily recognized abroad.
