한국⋅타이완⋅일본 학자의 초국적 교육 및 협업 - <東亞越境文學與文化>를 중심으로

This paper examines the utility and sustainability of cross-border education through the development and delivery of the course Border-Crossing Literature and Culture in East Asia, jointly offered to Mainland Chinese and Taiwanese undergraduates. The course was supported by the international branch of the Department of Chinese Literature at National Taiwan University, which provided necessary financial and human resources, enabling collaboration with Korean and Japanese scholars. It adopted a thematic focus on migration and cross-border within East Asian literature and culture to reorient students’ perspectives on Chinese studies. As a case study, Lin Yutang林語堂 and South Korea highlights Lin’s role as a cultural mediator—through his translations, visits, and public lectures in early 20th-century Korea—illustrating the course’s transnational and transcultural dimensions.  Results showed that by employing this intercultural framework centered on migration and cross-border themes, international undergraduates transformed abstract notions of East Asia into tangible, shared cultural experiences. This educational initiative enhanced intercultural awareness and academic growth among participants. It demonstrates a viable model for sustainable, collaborative cross-border education, laying a foundation for ongoing scholarly communication and cooperation across national and disciplinary boundaries.
