응용학문으로서 행정학의 사회적 적실성에 관한 탐색적 연구: 행정학에 대한 사회수요적 접근
초록
Currently, environments surrounding Public Administration are rapidly changing. In order to cope with these changes, Public Administration should continuously respond to demands required from the society. This study explored how Public Administration responds to the social demands in the current era. The targets for analysis were reports from the public institute of Public Administration and curriculum of graduate school of Public Administration. Before going further, this study categorized various types of social demands in Public Administration from 33 sources(15 surveys from professors in PA and 18 literatures). On the basis of categorized social demands, this study classified reports from the public institute and curriculum using content analysis. Results are; 1) while the public institute follows social demands after their emergence, the private sector institutes seem to have capacity to predict the upcoming (i.e., short-term) social demands. Another feature is that the public institute focuses more on demands from government rather than social demands. 2) Still, relatively large portion of graduate school curriculum in Korea is occupied by traditional courses such as organization theory, personnel administration, or financial management.
