초록
This study aims to elucidate the characteristics of artificial intelligence technology as of 2026, using Heidegger’s concept of cybernetics—as discussed in his 1967 work 「Die Herkunft der Kunst und die Bestimmung des Denkens」—as a reference framework. To this end, we will preliminarily examine the concept of technology within his philosophy of technology. In Die Technik und die Kehre, Heidegger discussed the meaning of technology on an ontological level, differing from approaches since ancient Greece and prior to modernity. According to him, contemporary technology since the 20th century is not merely a tool surrounding us, but a path enabling humans to reveal the world in a specific way, and it is the destiny of all humanity. This meaning of technology has gradually structured itself diachronically, expanding into a social phenomenon. Heidegger named this society, dominated by technological logic, the cybernetic society, as mentioned above. In the cybernetic society, not only humans and nature but also human life and thought are subsumed by mechanical circular logic. This trend corresponds today to the rapid development of self learning algorithm and the subordination of human intelligence to it. Against this backdrop, this study aims to elucidate the framework of Heidegger’s philosophy of technology and demonstrate that, within his worldview, the emergence and operation of contemporary artificial intelligence technology follow cybernetic logic.
