This chapter explores how blockchain technology could potentially transform the visual arts field, examining the emergence of new artists and collectors, startups related to art, and the reshaping of traditional art market boundaries. By exploring blockchain-based art platforms, the chapter illustrates how the decentralized structure of the blockchain facilitates direct communication and exchange between artists and collectors, eliminating the need for intermediaries like galleries and auction companies.
