초록

This study explored the parenting experiences of fathers who assumed primary caregivers roles for infants during parental leave in contemporary society, where paternal involvement in childrearing is increasingly emphasized. In particular, the study focused on the interaction between paternal caregiving experiences and maternal gatekeeping roles. Four fathers on parental leave, each caring for an infants aged 0 to 2, participanted in three rounds of semi-stuctured interviews conducted From April to September 2024. The interview data were transcribed and analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings were as follows. First, participants reported growth in their paternal role through active involvement in infant care. Second, they recognized maternal gatekeeping roles and experienced acceptance, conflict, negotiation, and transition during their caregiving involvement. Thses findings illustrate the interaction between paternal caregiving and maternal gatekeeping, offering. this study provides foundational insights for both parental roles in infant care and improving to social support systems.
