초록

Intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) imaging provides a detailed information about the coronary artery including the vessel wall, plaque, and lumen with resolution up to 150 microns. IVUS use is based on the appropriate principle, which is angiography cannot accurately represent the sizes (dimensions) or the composition of coronary plaque and luminal narrowings. These information are necessary to assess the lesion morphology as well as percutaneous coronary intervention. The quantitative parameters are summarized in Table 3.1. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2018.
