문화·예술·스토리텔링을 기반으로 둔 한국학 교육과정의 재설계

초록

This study proposes curricula for Korean studies, with a focus heavily embedded in storytelling contents from the Korean wave, cultural heritage, traditional arts, and digital media. The curricular of Korean studies in English-speaking university programs, were examined and the major subjects were classified as humanities, Korean language education, the arts, and culture. The courses available in diploma and certificate programs, were also reviewed. The study found that the conventional programs concentrate their efforts on Korean language learning and social science. The results suggest a future direction in which Korean studies could become more globalized and neutral by exploring the meaningfulness of the Korean wave, cultural heritage, the arts, and other humanities for curricula development.
