Consideration of the poetry of Goryeoin in the former Soviet Union ― Focusing on the poems in Seonbong

초록

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the reasons why the poetry genre was so popular, as well as its nature, and the characteristics of poetry forms, focusing on the poems contained in the Seonbong newspaper. There are a total of 80 Goryeoin poems included in Seonbong. The reason this genre of poetry was so popular in the Goryeo literary circle was that, in order to spread the Soviet Union’s socialist state ideology to the public and to mobilize and encourage the masses to socialism, above all else, a medium was required that could be delivered quickly and easily; this medium was poetry. As the poetry of Goryeoin played a role in cultivating the public sentiment, the importance of poetry was very important. In addition, the reason the poetry genre prevailed is that Goryeoin literature was, from its beginning, developed in the absence of professional writers. As a result, these poems, which were relatively easier to create than novels, became popular. Goryeoin poetry is not a type of traditional pure lyric poem that emphasizes unique individual emotions or the expression ofbut instead is a type of literature with a strong purpose that meets the group needs. Therefore, the poetry of Goryeoin, which was created based on socialist realism and emphasized its motivation for delivery, revealed a character that could not escape from rigidity and crudeness. The forms of Goryeoin poetry are classified into fixed verse, poetry, free poetry, prose poetry, or long epic poetry. Fixed verse was often used only at the beginning of this time period, but was not used at all after 1930. The reason for this is that fixed poetry, which had a strict negative rate, was unable to capture the socialist construction site in front of his eyes; the negative view of fixed poetry that was written by Jo Myeong-hui, who actually developed Goryeoin literature, played a role in this situation. Free poetry attempted to combine socialist content with ethnic forms of poetry. The ethnic forms refer to changes to traditional rhythm, in part, and into a form of the rhythm that fit the socialist content. In addition, free poems were also created according to Mayakovsky’s writing method. In particular, prose poems and long epic poems were created in the form of Mayakovsky’s poetry, which allows us to see how much the Goryeoin literature was influenced by Mayakovsky’s poetry. The craze for Mayakovsky's poetry lasted until the formation of North Korean literature, right after liberation, and directly led to the creation of new epic poems. A closer examination of this topic should be conducted in the future.
