일본 라디오와 TV의 전파 월경과 문화의 접경

It is general that ‘radio wave’ is led by a country and transmitted within its territory. However, crossing border or invading cultural and ideological area often occurs due to the natureof radio wave which can not be fi nely adjusted and can not be blocked from receiving throughtransformed device. ‘Busan’ was a special border area where radio wave repeatedly permeatedcrossing border in Korea and a space where culture was secretly introduced and distributed. Japanwas always the subject to prohibit in Korean Peninsula which passed through the Japanese colonialperiod, however, their music received through radio wave steadily crossed the border. Bright and sophisticated image of J-POP introduced through radio wave became a greatnourishment for the birth of Korean dance music in the late 1980s. Around this time, a greattransition from ‘listening’ using radio to ‘watching’ through a media called TV occurs, and itcreates colorful dance and rhythmic ‘new generation dance song’. Korean pop music producers,who did not have musical or industrial base to fulfi ll the explosive demand of pop song, tried toavoid the situation easily imitating or plagiarizing Japanese music, however, it only resulted manynew generation dance singers involved in plagiarism. Korean pop music sought the way to evolveand develop its own unique color escaping the infl uence of Japanese dance music through a seriesof trials, and it creates a special genre called K-POP as a result. Th e success of K-POP can be an example of a kind of cultural convergence process ‘buildinga transnational (or transcultural) style’ when other culture imported through radio wave passingthrough the stage of ‘consumption-imitation-settlement’. Korean dance music started withthe infl uence of Japan and the West grew intro an original and new genre called K-POP and itbecame an example of a virtuous cycle which approached the people around the world again. This study attempted to capture the cultural border and convergence phenomenon by intimately analyzing the relationship between the fl ow of Japanese culture which was transmittedby radio wave and K-POP.
