현대시조의 다문화 수용 양상 고찰 - 2015년 창작 작품을 중심으로－

초록

The world is changing very fast in 21th century and Koran society’s entrance to the multicultural society is a noteworthy change in this period. Along with the entrance to new society, it is almost certain that the existing paradigms in almost all fields such as politics, diplomacy, society, economy and culture have changed or are now under change. Our literature is no exception to that trend. The multiculturalism have appeared to not only poems, novels, playwright and scenario but also to classical literature, especially the sijo literature which has been considered to have strong conservatism and tradition in various topics and materials. Under the background of the changes, I have researched on the form of acceptance of multiculturalism in the modern sijo, focusing on the works created on the theme of multiculturalism in 2015. In the body of the study, I have analyzed 15 sets of sijo which are described in 5 serial sijo works and divided the forms of acceptance of multiculturalism by the modern sijo into two categories. One is to see the multiculturalism as a target for co-existence or “our multiculturalism” as it is the natural phenomena in this rapidly changing world. The other is to recognize it as the negative one, and see the multiculturalism as “yours” from the viewpoint of discrimination as it inhibits the existing tradition and cultural purity. The different forms of acceptance of multiculturalism are not those recognized by the poets but those reflected in the text of sijo. But both perspectives have something in common in that they both see the multiculturalism as the global phenomena and that we should find the way for communication and co-existence. Now is not the time for deciding whether we should accept the multiculturalism or reject it. The main goal of this study is to try to understand the difference between two perspectives and find out the method of communication of co-existence. It would also ultimately contribute to the purpose of literature, which is to make the quality of life for all humanity better.
