Second, the percentage of parents and grandparents respectively taking part in the naming process were similar, indicating that grandparents become to play a smaller role in the naming process due to the increase of nuclear families. Third, the percentage of using the generation character(hangryeol) when naming was 35.5%, and more male students had generation character name. Fourth, 4.8% of students changed their names, and the most important reason for changing their names was because their names didn’t fit their saju or fortune. Fifth, students who were unsatisfied with their names replied that ‘because it has no individuality and is too common, because it becomes an object of ridicule, because it is hard to pronounce’. Sixth, 87.6% answered that fetus names are necessary, and it is likely that fetus names will be popular in the future as well. Hereafter, by carrying out additional surveys of different age groups, this paper intends to study how the characteristics of Korean name and Koreans’ language attitudes towards it changed through different age groups.
