고등학교 『한국사』 교과서의 고대 여성 관련 서술 검토

초록

This study was intended to analyze eight textbooks of Korean History currently used in high schools as to how they describe the contents related to women in the primitive and ancient periods. It attempted to analyze the contents presented in the objective of education and in the domain of contents as they were written on the premise of the curriculum presented by Korean government. But it had difficulty finding out the mention and perspective related to women in the objective of education, the domain and criterion of contents, and the criterion for writing the textbook and the like. And then it attempted to analyze the contents carried in eight textbooks of Korean History. But they made a mention about gender-based division of labor and gender inequality in the primitive period but it was difficult to find out the contents and perspectives aware of the gender of 'woman' in the ancient period since the period of Gojoseon or ancient Joseon. Relatedness with woman could be found largely in the mention about the social custom, which introduced it in an one-dimensional way. This indicates that the current high-school education of primitive and ancient parts in Korean History deals with woman-related contents in brief and furthermore is lacking in the gender perspective. But in the primitive and ancient periods, women showed the figure different from those in the other periods in that they were worshipped as goddess or engaged in public activities in the capacity of woman priest, queen and so on. Therefore, there is some limitation in understanding the historical situation of the primitive and ancient society due to the lack of an understanding of ‘woman‘. In addition, there is a need to complement the understanding and contents of the history of woman in the primitive and ancient parts in terms of the pluralistic value presented as the current educational objective of korean history in high schools.
