초록

This study explores the potential of “feminist institutionalism”, which combines neo-institutionalism and feminist political research to extensively analyze the system from a gender perspective, in the field of welfare state and social policy research. The study begins by reviewing the contributions and limitations of welfare state typology research using gender regimes and comparing it with “feminist institutionalism” as a research method to supplement existing research. The study then summarizes the concepts and analytical frameworks presented by feminist institutionalism, and provides examples of welfare state research that has applied feminist institutionalism. The study confirms the significance and applicability of the conceptual and analytical tools presented by feminist institutionalism, particularly in institutional change analysis, informal institutional analysis, and actor, idea, and discourse analysis. The study concludes by suggesting that feminist institutionalism has the potential to further academic development and serve as a practical strategy towards achieving a gender-equal welfare state, which is an unfinished task.
