서사의 교차에 관한 텍스트 언어학적 분석
초록
This study analyzes Kim Hoon’s novel Harbin through the lens of sequence theory, aiming to explore how multiple narrative trajectories intersect within the text. Drawing on Jean-Michel Adam’s theory of textual sequences and A.J. Greimas’s semiotic narrative model, the paper examines the narrative structures of three key figures—Ahn Jung-geun, Woo Deok-soon, and Ito Hirobumi—each of whom carries an independent ethical and political narrative program. These programs converge in the space of Harbin, constituting a decisive trial that marks the point of ethical evaluation and narrative culmination. This convergence functions not merely as a plot resolution but as a textual arena of historical legitimacy and ethical judgment. Each character’s utterance serves not just a functional narrative role—such as helper or opponent—but acts as a distinct textual sequence contributing unique meaning. Notably, Ito is not simply a target of removal; rather, he serves as a central signifier that organizes the political and ethical logic of the protagonists. Ahn Jung-geun’s action, therefore, transcends personal revenge and is reframed as the realization of a collective ethical program. Ultimately, the study argues that Harbin is not just a geographic location but a semiotic space where historical ethics and narrative structure converge through the decisive trial of narrative programs.
