An in-depth Analysis of Psychological Response and Trauma in The Stage of Injury in College Athletes

초록

The purpose of this study was to analyze in-depth psychological reactions and trauma at each stage of injury in sports. Participants in the study selected 10 individual athletes and 9 group athletes as university athletes with more than 5 years of exercise experience and conducted focus group interviews on psychological reactions and trauma at each stage of injury. It was divided into a total of 5 categories and 13 subcategories through open coding, triangular verification, and categorization processes. The causes of injuries to college athletes were condition, injuries caused by major batter consciousness, bystanders, and others, while injury psychology was found to be anxiety, fear, sorry, irritation, frustration, and liberation. Psychological reactions resulted in psychological atrophy, negative thoughts, overprotection, and positive thinking factors. Recovery methods were found to be weight training, hospitals, and manual therapy, and athletes who suffered trauma had a change in career path. The above results are believed to provide basic data on psychological reactions and trauma coping measures for each stage of injury of university athletes, as well as guidelines for many sports injuries and trauma situations.
