창업생태계 조성을 통한 도시재생 사례연구: 관악S밸리의 성공요인을 중심으로

초록

Purpose: This study is designed to investigate the factors to obtain successful results from the collaboration of industry, academy, and government by studying the currently running example, which is a startup ecosystem creation project with those three parties, and also to find out the implication for the effect of startup ecosystem creation project on the urban regeneration. Methodology: The area for the case study is “Daehak-dong, Seoul, which showed a declining state after the abolition of the judicial examination. The participating institutes for the collaboration of industry, academy, and government were the Seoul National University, Korea Telecom, and the Gwanak-gu local government. For the case study, we analyzed the Triple Helix Model which is the representative model used to study the collaboration of industry, academy, and government, and the results of previously performed for urban regeneration. In addition, The outcomes of the collaboration and the interaction between institutes in the course of performing the collaborative project were analyzed by examining the real three cases that three parties collaborated for Gwanak S Valley. Besides, the interview of the resident in this area, the startup CEO, and specialists from each participating institute. Implication: As an implication in view of the collaboration of industry, academy, and government, first, the support of top decision-makers in the institute must be an important driving force in the beginning stage of collaboration, second, the excellent social assets in the local area functioned as very positively in the collaboration, third, the formation of the official governance system is also important to accelerate the sustainable and efficient collaboration. In view of urban regeneration, first, communication with the society of the local area is important, second, pursuing a synergistic effect is necessary by making a tight connection between similar projects conducting the local area. Ultimately, this case study intends to provide a useful framework helpful to lead a successful urban regeneration and a construction project for a startup cluster based on multilateral collaboration
