This study examines the relationship between the agglomeration of Fourth Industrial Revolution(4IR) industries and regional population mobility in South Korea. The 4IR sector comprises four sub-industries: manufacturing; publishing, broadcasting, telecommunications and information services; finance and insurance; and professional, scientific and technical services. Using 2023 data for 228 municipal-level jurisdictions, industrial specialization was measured by Flegg’s Location Quotient(FLQ), and a spatial regression model was employed to model spatial dependence across neighboring regions. Higher levels of 4IR industrial agglomeration are associated with increases in both in- and out-migration, indicating a bidirectional mobility pattern rather than simple concentration. Sectoral differences are clear: professional, scientific and technical services are positively related to all mobility types; 4IR-related manufacturing mainly to out-migration and short-distance mobility; finance and insurance show stabilizing effects; and publishing, broadcasting, telecommunications and information services exhibit no significant relationship. These results suggest that 4IR industries reshape regional mobility through sector-specific mechanisms and that policy responses should consider heterogeneous mobility dynamics and spatial interactions among regions
