In this paper, we propose a transparent and rollable electromagnetic wave-absorbing film that employs screen printing and metal mesh technologies. Despite the film being very thin, it successfully absorbed electromagnetic waves. The proposed metafilm was designed with a small surface area pattern and a metal mesh ground, rendering it transparent to visible light. In addition, since the metamaterial unit structure of this absorption film uses an incident angle insensitive structure, it can function as an electromagnetic wave absorber, even when the film is bent. The metafilm sample was fabricated by printing metamaterial absorbers on polyethylene terephthalate (PET) films using screen printing technology. It was confirmed that this film transmits about 64% of light compared to the visible light transparency of the PET film having the same thickness. the electromagnetic absorption performance of the film was over 90% in both the flat state and curved state. © 2002-2011 IEEE.
