초록
(Purpose) Taekwondo gymnasiums in Korea play a crucial role as educational spaces for lifetime sports. The language used by Taekwondo instructors in these educational spaces significantly impacts the youth who participate in such gymnasiums. Therefore, this study explores the types and characteristics of instructional languages used by Taekwondo instructors running successful youth programs. (Methods) Purposive sampling was employed to select three participants, and the collected data were analyzed using qualitative case study methods through non-participant observation and in-depth interviews. (Results) This study categorized the instructional language of youth taekwondo instructors into three areas: physical, emotional, and social development. The types of instructional languages identified within each category were physical, emotional, and social growth. First, the instructional language for physical growth comprises a concrete direction language and an abstract guidance language. Second, instructional languages for emotional growth include facilitative recognition and empathetic support. Third, instructional languages for social growth should provide authoritarian and autonomous guidance. (Conclusion) The instructional language of young Taekwondo instructors is crucial in promoting the holistic development of youth practitioners.
