초록
(Purpose) As exercise participation among middle-aged women has gained prominence, research on the physical and mental effects of the exercise types in which middle-aged women engage is actively underway. Within this context, it is necessary to examine the motivations and effects of middle-aged women participating in Balance-walking PT , which is increasingly utilized in community sports settings. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the influence of participation motivation on psychological well-being and life satisfaction. (Methods) A random sample of 250 middle-aged women aged 40 and above, enrolled in Balance Walking PT classes nationwide, was selected. Using non-face-to-face and face-to-face surveys, 224 completed questionnaires were collected and analyzed using the SPSS/WIN statistical program version 22.0. (Results and Conclusions) The analysis yielded the following conclusions: First, middle-aged women participating in balance-walking PT were motivated by intrinsic factors, and as their sense of competence increased through this participation, they experienced the higher levels of psychological well-being and life satisfaction. Second, the motivation to participate in balance-walking PT was found to have a partially positive effect on psychological well-being and life satisfaction.
