This study aims to find out national ground-wave broadcasting journalists' perception of control factors on investigative journalism during the Moon Jae-in administration. Using the hierarchy of influence model as a theoretical framework, the perception of the interaction between internal and external control factors of the media was analyzed. First, in order to check the perception of 'media reporting control factors', the results of the 'Journalists' Consciousness Survey' conducted by the Korea Press Promotion Foundation were secondarily analyzed. Ground-wave broadcasting journalists chose 'government or political circles' as the first and second control factors even during the Moon administration when the press freedom index got better. Second, to check the performance of investigative journalism during this period, the lists of 'Reporter of the Month Award' was analyzed and in-depth interviews with ground-wave broadcasters were done. As a result of the analysis and interviews, it was found out that investigative journalism performance deviated from the traditional objects and themes of the journalism, namely 'exposure of huge power' and did not meet expectations. Third, we analyzed the perception of control factors interaction that affected the withering of investigative journalism. In the interviews with public KBS and MBC broadcasters, their perceptions were revealed that the political parallelism or clientelism between political power and company leadership established after the 2017 presidential election was invisible, but journalists' internalization or self-censorship may have worked. In the interviews with private SBS broadcasters, they revealed their perceptions that strong opposition from the ruling party lawmaker and the company's actions to reduce its investigative journalism capabilities may have worked as control factors. The results of this analysis mean that the task of overcoming the political parallelism and clientelism in Korean broadcasting media is different under different regimes, but still exists.
